KAMPALA - The police in Kampala is still investigating the cause of a single fatal at Namasuba along Entebbe Road where a 37-year-old female driver died instantly.

The accident occurred at about 1:00 am a few meters from Freedom City Mall when the driver of a double cabin vehicle, registration number UBA 580P lost control and hit a roadside pavement.

The vehicle was damaged beyond recognition but the police at the scene managed to retrieve the National Identity Card of the driver who was alone, which bore the names of Margaret Bamanya Dwaya, who was born in 1983.

The Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesman, Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the death and said the police reached the scene and took the body to the city mortuary, and towed away from the wreckage as investigations commenced.

He said the police in Katwe were trying to establish the circumstances under which the accident occurred, saying the speed at which the deceased was driving suggested that she was under pressure and suspect some other unknown motorists could have been chasing her.
