Murder in Wakiso: Roast chicken dealer killed

The body of the deceased was identified by residents on their way to work early Friday morning.

The Police have started investigations into the murder of Quarish Turyahebwa, 23, who was killed on his way home in Kiyanja zone, Kyengera Town Council in Wakiso District.
 
The body of the deceased was identified by residents on their way to work early Friday morning who notified officers at Nabbingo Police station.

 The body had fresh wounds on the head and hands, and it was only dressed in a gray T-shirt with no trousers. Near the body were the black sandals and some take-away food.

Grace Akankwasa, the wife to the deceased, told New Vision that Turyahebwa left home at 2:00pm on Thursday for work in Kyengera. However, he did not make it back home.

She added early in the morning as she was walking to her husband's workplace in Kyengera where he used to sell roast chicken, she found people gathered around her husband's body.

Taddeo Kiyaga, the area local council chairman, cautioned residents to be more vigilant and called upon security operatives to take note of the dark corners and routes.

He warned residents to stop moving at night and follow the government curfew directive.

Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson Luke Oweyesigyeri confirmed the incident and said that investigations are on-going.
