Few days after being dropped from the Cranes team that is preparing for the doubleheader against South Sudan, defender Murushid Juuko says he has now shifted the focus to the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) finals in Cameroon next year.

"I would like to play at CHAN although that depends on how my teammates perform in the league but am optimistic the club will do well since we are well prepared," stated Juuko.

The experienced defender was part of the 22 local-based players summoned ahead of the AFCON 2021 qualifier against South Sudan but never made the final cut of 7 players.

"Firstly, I am grateful that the gaffer (Jonathan McKinstry) called me up. He makes the final call and I respect that. I know there are more games to come and I will be considered because am working towards that happening," he said.

Juuko has represented the Cranes at the past two consecutive AFCON editions and will be one of the key players Express head coach Wasswa Bbosa will depend on next season that starts on December 3.
