The Government on Monday announced it had eased restrictions on mass gatherings, political rallies, cinemas, casinos among others.

Addressing the press, the Minister of Health, Jane Ruth Aceng, announced Government considerations for a phased lifting of the lockdown.

Aceng noted that Government had reconsidered and allowed mass gathering for churches, political rallies, meetings, and weddings but that they should not exceed 200 persons.

The Government had also considered opening cinemas, gyms, massage parlors, and mobile markets, effective Saturday, November 14, 2020, and that Casinos and gaming outlets may resume operations after fulfilling conditions included in the standard operating procedures.

Casinos, gyms, churches, and schools among others were shut down by Government in March this year to curb the spread of Covid-19.

The Government also shut down public transport among others but there has since been an ease in the restrictions.

Aceng noted that the hours of operations for gyms, cinemas, and massage parlors would be restricted from 6:30am to 7:00pm (details in tomorrow's New Vision).
