ELECTIONS 2021

FDC presidential candidate Patrick Amuriat Oboi made a five-minute stopover at Bugembe trading centre along the Jinja-Tororo highway causing  traffic in the area.

His supporters were seen holding posters and lining up as they waited for him.

Moments after glancing at his convoy from a distance at Wanyama, locals converged and, in just a few minutes, blocked the road forcing motorists to share the single lane from Tororo to Jinja town.

The barefoot candidate who was in the company of the Jinja district FDC chairperson, Abubaker Maganda and other party women flag-bearers such as Salamu Musumba, Stella Nyanzi and Kauthara Maganda vying for Kamuli, Kampala and Jinja city respectively addressed supporters while  he was on top of his vehicle.

Police fired teargas to disperse the crowds in order to give way for Amuriat to proceed with his journey to Soroti where he is expected to launch his campaign manifesto.
