Uganda records 14 COVID-19 deaths, highest ever

The total number of COVID-19 deaths now stands at 131 while the cumulative confirmed cases are 13,852. 

Uganda has announced the highest number of COVID-19 deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic in March, with 14 patients succumbing to the Novel virus in a single day.

The results announced by the health ministry on Friday night confirmed 284 new patients and 14 deaths in Gulu, Kampala and Masaka.

 

The total number of COVID-19 deaths now stands at 131 while the cumulative confirmed cases are 13,852. 

According to the ministry, 280 of the new cases are contacts and alerts from Kampala (84), Lira (56), Jinja (26), Wakiso (16), Kasese (18), Kabale (14), Soroti (8), Alebtong (9), Apac (7), Luwero (6), Mbale (7), Isingiro (5), Sironko (5) and Amuria (4) districts.

Others are from the districts of Kabarole (4), Kyotera (3), Busia (3), Kaberamaido (2), Kisoro (1), Rukungiri (1), Bukwo (1), Buikwe (1), Mukono (1), Ngora (1), Kole (1), Jinja (1) and four truck drivers at Malaba.
