MBALE - Mbale district and city National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag-bearers have agreed to campaign as a team.

The candidates reached an agreement after several meetings.

Mbale City Woman Member of Parliament NRM flagbearer Lydia Wanyoto said the same team will be used to campaign for President Yoweri Museveni.

She added that they would also use a door-to-door campaign system.

"Nobody will be allowed to campaign as an individual because we believe when we work as a team, we shall weaken our opposition. This will build teamwork and solve the infighting and intrigue that is eating into the NRM in Bugisu region," she added.

Mbale NRM flag-bearer for the Woman MP seat and chairperson of the team Florence Soobi said hundreds of NRM village chairpersons have been deployed to campaign for the President.

Mbale NRM district chairperson Muhamud Masaba warned candidates against using foul language against those in the Opposition, but rather lure them to join NRM.

He said the opposition should not be considered as enemies and urged the NRM foot soldiers to use all tactics to convince them to vote for NRM candidates.

Mbale Resident District Commissioner Barrasa Ogajjo appealed to independent candidates to "return home", adding that in politics, there is always one winner.
