Independent candidate Fred Mwesigye has become the eighth presidential aspirant to nominated for the 2021 general elections.

Mwesigye was the fifth candidate nominated on Tuesday after Democratic Party's Norbert Mao, National Unity Platform's Robert Kyagulanyi, and Forum for Democratic Change's Patrick Amuriat.

Mwesigye noted that political parties, and manifesto, are not the
answerers to this nation's problems but God. He noted that he carried a love-based message and fear of God ideology that he believes will drive the nation forward.

He noted that only a leader who followed the provision of God was a righteous leader.

He called upon Ugandans to vote out of love and not hatred or self-seeking.

Mwesigye noted that it was time to believe in ourselves and speak about God from our heart and not our lips.
