The State House political mobiliser, Robert Rwakandare said government plans to support local investments mainly those adding value to locally produced agricultural products.

According to Rwakandare, any local investor who starts business of value addition plays an important role in creating jobs in the country.

Rwakandare made the remarks on Tuesday when he visited SAO Uganda, which is a value addition factory in Kyengera, Wakiso district.

He pointed out that the NRM government has put in place a peaceful environment and the focus is now on poverty eradication.
It was from this point that Rwakandare called upon all the youth in the country to stop engaging in what he called bad politics that involves riots and instead engage in developmental projects.

He hailed the director of SAO Uganda, Victor Kateeba for starting such a factory which is employing over 3,000 youth countrywide.
"Government is going to support you so that you come up with a bigger factory because you are employing such a big number of people even without government's support," Rwakandare said.

He further appealed to the youth to always embrace government programs like the Emyooga fund saying government comes up with such programs to empower people economically.

The director of SAO Uganda value addition center, Victor Kateeba asked government to help local investors by reducing taxes.
"If possible government would be paying taxes for us because we play a big role in job creation and promoting BUBU {Build Uganda, Buy Uganda} which is government's target," Kateeba said.

Kateeba whose factory deals in herbs and spices gets all his raw materials within the country. According to Kateeba, many people have benefited from his factory.
