Singer Bobi Wine won the PAM 2006 Artiste of the Year award at Lugogo, beating Mesach Semakula, the 2005 winner, Jose Chameleone and Bebe Cool. Nominated a record seven times, Bobi Wine also took home the Best Afrobeat Single award for his song, Owana Wabandi (Bada). He received the award from Dr. William Kalema, the chairman board of directors, MultiChoice Uganda. The accolade came with a sh10m cash prize.
