Eat ghee for soft skin, good heart health

NUTRITION |

Ghee is a type of clarified butter that contains fewer dairy proteins than regular butter.

It can be used as a substitute for butter and ordinary cooking oil. Traditionally, it was the main cooking oil and ingredient in dishes.

Ghee is still used in ayurvedic massage and in Uganda as a base for herbal medicine, such as ointments used in treating bone dislocation by bone setters.

Ghee contains good amounts of healthy fats, Vitamin A, E and D. Although many of us think the high content of fat in ghee is bad for health, ghee is full of omega-3 fatty acids, which are good fats and are essential for improving the brain and heart health.

Ghee can also increase the good cholesterol levels inside the body, which is great for your heart's health.

It is also a good source of energy. It contains medium and short-chain fatty acids, of which lauric acid is a potent antimicrobial and antifungal substance.

It can also be used to nourish the skin. It has vital fatty acids that act as a nourishing agent, which does wonders to infuse life in dull skin. Pure ghee is made out of cow's milk and is said to be extremely powerful in giving you a soft and supple skin.

It is also known to be suitable for all skin types and has vital fatty acids that help in hydration of the skin cells.

However, overconsumption of ghee can cause weight gain, which might be a gate for other chronic diseases. In addition, it can also increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases if consumed in large quantities.

In other words, if the ghee is consumed in the right amount, it has no major side-effect on your health.
