The child died on the spot.
A 12-year-old boy was knocked dead by a bus in Okollo subcounty, Madi-Okollo in northern Uganda Sunday evening.
The child died on the spot. Moments after the accident, residents formed a crowd at the scene, where the bus had tipped over.
The DPC of Madi Okollo, Diana Namutunzi, reported the driver of the Nile Star bus driver was speeding.
She reported that the teenage boy was crossing the road while carrying firewood with two mates, seconds before the accident happened.
He was hit and died right away. The other two survived but with injuries.
The boy's body was taken to Nebbi General Hospital Mortuary while the survivors were admitted at Rhema Hospital in Arua for medical attention.
The actual cause of the accident is not known.
"If the driver was not speeding, the boy would have survived," said DPC Namutunzi, who added that Police investigations are going on.
