My wife might leave me if she finds out.
I love my wife to death; she is my best friend and a great mother to our kids. I cannot imagine my life without her. When we got married, we both vowed never to cheat. Three years ago, I made the biggest mistake of my life: I stepped out of our marriage and got my colleague pregnant. It happened at a party my wife knew I was attending. All I can say is drinks flowed, one thing led to another; things happened. If you ask me, it was a regrettable moment of weakness. I struggled with the guilt thereafter and avoided my colleague. My wife knew something was up and she was really worried. I told her not to; that it was just a bad business deal and she helped me bounce back emotionally. If only she knew! My wife is a God-fearing woman and very patient, but she cannot stand being lied to. I have seen her cut off a friend because of dishonesty and I shudder to think what would happen if she ever found out. The baby recently turned two years and I am afraid that the longer I wait to break the news, the harder it will be. I have tried to tell her many times, but we are just so happy that I am afraid of ruining what we have built for 13 years. My colleague is as scared of my wife finding out as I am. They actually know each other. But I also know that an innocent child has been brought into this mess and I have a duty to be present in his life. What do I do?
