Gawaya to take part in the Uganda Motor Economy Adventure tour

The three-day adventure tour is meant to promote domestic tourism in the country and will cover western Uganda.

Former 2WD national champion Timothy Gawaya is the latest entrant in the 2020 Uganda Motor Economy Adventure Tour next month.

Gawaya navigated by Lion Marty in a Toyota Starlet joins the other 13 crews including Alex Kikonyongo, the Worldwide Movers team, and former Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) secretary Joseph Mwangala in the 900km event organised by United Motorsport Club (UMOSPOC) and Enduro Club on November 20-22.

The three-day adventure tour is meant to promote domestic tourism in the country and will cover western Uganda.

According to the deputy clerk of the Course (COC) Jareed Kaleera, entries will close on November 15.

"We want to organise this event to international standards," Kaleera said.

On day one, participants will cover a distance from Kampala- Kapeka- Hoima- Kabwoya Game Reserve and spend a night in Hoima.

They will then cover Hoima - Kagadi- Kyenjojo- Fort Portal - Bundibugyo (Semuliki National Park and Sempaya Hot springs) then spend a night in Fort Portal on day two.

The final day will cover the areas of Fort Portal - Kasese - Kazinga channel- Queen Elizabeth National Park - Ishaka escapement- Bushenyi and end in Mbarara.
