The Ugandan squad is still in camp in preparation for the qualifiers

The final round of the 2021 FIFA U17 Women's Cup qualifier between Uganda and Cameroon is in doubt.

This comes after reports indicate the qualifiers within Africa have been postponed by FIFA due to the coronavirus pandemic to later dates and an official communication is expected in the coming days.

This comes after tournament hosts India pulled out from hosting the competition due to the increased cases of the pandemic.

The Ugandan squad is still in camp in preparation for the qualifiers despite the fact that their opponents Cameroon reportedly called off their camp that was supposed to start this week.

"We have not received any formal communication about this so we can't call off the training sessions unless it is communicated that the qualifiers have been postponed," stated coach Ayub Khalifah Kiyingi.

The final round of the World Cup qualifier against Cameroon was initially supposed to be played in May but due to the pandemic CAF decided to postpone the qualifiers.

The first leg was scheduled to be played on October 31 while the return leg on November 21 with the winner making it to finals.

Uganda who are playing the qualifiers for the first time were to host the first leg before travelling to Yaoundé for the return leg.
