Bagalana makes second Safari Tour cut

Last year’s top tour player Dismas Indiza leads the twenty-man field

Professional Ugandan golfer Abbey Bagalana carded 149 gross in the opening two rounds to make the cut for the second time in a row, during the third leg of the Safari Tour at Vetlab Golf Club in Nairobi.

Bagalana who is smarting from making his maiden cut from the Royal Nairobi Golf Club opened with a three-over-par 75 on Sunday before improving by a stroke in the second round on Monday to make the cut tied in 11th place alongside four other golfers, on 149 gross each.

Going into the third round on Tuesday, Bagalana will now be aiming for an even better position to get a decent pay-cheque from the sh25m prize money.

His counterpart Phillip Kasozi failed to make the grade for the second consecutive time missing out on the cash and tour points by five strokes having returned 156 over the two rounds.

Last year's top tour player Dismas Indiza leads the twenty-man field that made the cut on a six-under 138 followed by Zimbabwe's Robinson Chinhoi, winner of the Royal Nairobi leg, on level-par 144.
