President Yoweri Museveni has appointed the former director general of the Internal Security Organization (ISO), Col Frank Kaka Bagyenda, as Uganda's ambassador to Angola.

Sources said Kaka is among the three new appointments made whose names have been sent to the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga for vetting.

When contacted, Senior Presidential Press Secretary Don Wanyana referred New Vision to office of the Speaker for confirmation.

Before his latest assignment, Kaka had just been replaced as ISO boss by President Museveni with Lt. Col. Charles Oluka.

He had been appointed to head the organisation in January 2017, replacing Brig. Ronnie Balya.

In the reforms earlier this month, Museveni also dropped long-serving deputy Don Mugimba and replaced him with Lt. Emmy Katabazi, who had been ISO's head of media.
