Minister Opendi excites residents with a donkey ride

TORORO - Soon after being nominated to defend her seat as Tororo district Woman MP, Mineral state Minister, Sarah Achieng Opendi, took a rare donkey ride on the streets of Tororo Town.

This caused a lot of excitement amongst her supporters.

Opendi, who was the last to be nominated, said her focus is on youth employment by lobbying for potential investors to create job opportunities in the vast mineral deposits in Tororo and surrounding districts.

Opendi, on the NRM ticket, will battle her rival, Ayo Jacinta an independent having lost in the NRM primaries to the latter.

Others nominated for the same seat include independents Sarah Abwin and Diana Ojaka.

In total 36 candidates, were nominated to contest in 8 constituencies of Tororo.
