Okupa is seeking a fifth term and he is contesting as an Independent after leaving the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party.

"I don't represent only my people of Kasilo county but the entire Teso. I have been leading a compensation case for Iteso where we won government, now I am seeking re-election so that I can follow up the issues of payment," Okupa said.

He explained that he is also going to push for the tarmacking of Kumi- Serere road so that it can facilitate easy trade between the districts.

Minister Adoa who is seeking her second term after trouncing the former FDC secretary general Alice Alaso, said that her plans of improving the health of the women, education of the vulnerable children and supporting saving groups are key on her agenda.

"Last time I spent two years battling a court case and that derailed me from fulfilling my programs. I pray for my people to vote for me in big numbers so that I will return and implement all the programs I have for them," Adoa said.

She is going to face Alaso who is contesting under the new party Alliance for National Transformation (ANT). Though the party is new with no structures on the ground, Alaso still believes that she is going to reclaim her seat in the coming elections.
