Tragedy: Victims identified after car rolls into Masaka Road swamp

The Police suspect that Nabasa was driving at high speed when the vehicle hit a hump before rolling into the swamp and killing the two instantly.

The Police have identified the two accident victims who died after their car hit a hump and rolled into Lwera swamp on Masaka Road on Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred at a section where the Uganda National Roads Authority is carrying out some repairs on sections of the road.

The two have been identified as Rogers Nabasa, 36, and Jackline Kyasiimire 22. They were travelling from Mbarara to Kampala.

The Police suspect that Nabasa was driving at high speed when the vehicle hit a hump before rolling into the swamp and killing the two instantly.

The traffic Police called in breakdown services from Masaka who found it difficult to pull the wreckage out of the water.

 

The bodies of the victims have been taken to Masaka Hospital mortuary for postmortem.

The wreckage is currently at Lukaya Police Station.
