Dr. Ssengonzi appointed ministry of finance accounting officer

DR. SSENGONZI|MINISTRY OF FINANCE

Dr. Edward Damulira Ssengonzi has been appointed as the Under Secretary and Accounting Officer for the Ministry of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development.

Dr. Ssengonzi will be succeeding Betty Kasimbazi who retired last month after serving in that capacity for many years.

Kasimbazi has had a tough experience with parliament committees of finance and Public Accounts Committee as she on several occasions had snags in explaining questionable expenditures within the ministry.

Before his elevation, Dr. Ssengonzi had been working as Principal Assistant Secretary at the finance ministry since December 2017.

With a PHD in economics, a Master's Degree in Economic Policy and Planning and a bachelor's degree in Quantities Economics, Dr. Ssengonzi is academically well equipped to make a big difference.

The economist who has also been a visiting lecturer in various universities previously worked as a Principal Assistant Secretary at the ministry of health and as a Private Secretary to the president.
