One priest ordained at Nsambya

This is the first ordination in Kampala since lock-down in March when Church functions and activities were suspended over the pandemic.

KAMPALA - The Bishop of Kiyinda-Mityana Catholic Diocese, Dr Joseph Anthony Zziwa has ordained one priest in a mass celebrated at Lourdel House at Nsambya Parish.

Rev. Fr Lini Agaba Masaati, a missionary from Kasambya Catholic Parish in Kiyinda-Mityana Diocese was ordained in a low key ceremony witnessed by few people including his parents, Venancio Nkwatirire and Boniconcila Ndegeya.


Due to the observation of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) put by the Health Ministry to fight COVID-19, few priests, among others, were present to witness the ordinance of Lini.

This is the first ordination in Kampala since lock-down in March when Church functions and activities were suspended over the pandemic.

Fr. Lini thanked Christians for their prayers towards him and said that his journey to priesthood is full of joy and happiness towards the manifestation of God's work.  

About Fr Lini

He was born on September 4, 1987 to Venancio Nkwatirire and Boniconcila Ndegeya of Kasambya Parish in Kiyinda-Mityana diocese and he is the 5th born of eight children in his family.

Few priests attended the ordination due to the COVID-19 SOPs.


He started education in Kasaana Public Primary School in 1996 to 2003, later joined Seed Secondary School (2004-2005), Silver Steps Secondary School Kasambya (2005-2007) then for A-Level he joined Sacred Heart Seminary Mubende (2008-2009).  

Later, Lini joined the Apostolic Society of Missionaries of Africa (White-Fathers) where he did his Philosophical formation in two house formations at St Mbaaga in Arusha Tanzania from 2010-2012. In (2012-2013) he went to Lavigerie philosophical house in Jinja. Then sent to Zambia for two years.
