Uganda makes breakthrough on Arthroscopy surgery

Many Ugandans especially in the sports world have had their knees and joints fractured during different indoor and outdoor sports activities.

Because of this, majority have missed out on their games because for them to perform again, they have to be operated on.
As a result of these injuries, most of the sports men and women require specialized surgery, which could not be offered locally due to lack of hi- tech methods and equipment required.

It is for this reason, that majority of them including the elderly who normally face knee and joint problems, have ended up seeking arthroscopy surgery outside Uganda.

However, with the introduction of arthroscopy surgery in Uganda, people seeking to have knee and joint surgery no longer have to foot the expensive bills to travel abroad for arthroscopy surgery since it can now be done locally.

Arthroscopy Surgery is a ground breaking surgical procedure in Uganda for diagnosing and treating joint problems.  This type of surgery is a keyhole procedure in which a telescope is inserted into a joint to allow the surgeon to make a thorough inspection of the joints so that a definite diagnosis can be made.
