KAMPALA - The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Dr Stephen Kazimba Mugalu, has urged Christians not to be rigid amidst the re-opening of churches after the seven months lockdown.
Kazimba advised Christians in these new normal times to be creative, flexible and always seek God for guidance.
He made the remarks on Sunday (October 4, 2020) during the first service after the seven months lockdown at All Saints Cathedral, Nakasero in Kampala.
"It will surprise us to find a Christian fighting for a chair in church during the time of re-opening churches. Let's be obedient to the wardens and other church officials." Kazimba preached.
He asked Christians not to relax in observing the Standard operative procedures (SOPs), as a preventive measure to fight the coronavirus.
During the service, social distance was maintained and after every service, cathedral chairs were sprayed to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
A total of five services were conducted at the cathedral each having a maximum of 70 people.
