River Nguse, with a series of water falls on the southern part of Bugoma, has enhanced the beauty of the place; and has more recently become a tourist attraction.

Coupled with the growing interest in chimpanzee tracking and bird watching, it has become an icing on the cake for the booming tourism sector, only interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. A nature based lodge has already been established at one of the falls as well, however, another is being discouraged because of the threatening encroachment.

Areas around Bugoma are water stressed and destruction of Bugoma Forest is going to increase water stress in the villages and downstream, a new assessment released by US experts indicated.

We have already established the importance of this water body that feeds into Lake Albert and its human use.
