Entebbe has a number of attractions for all, some of which include: restaurants, bars, the zoo, the botanical garden and beaches.

Entebbe International Airport reopened Thursday (October 1,2020), with Turkish Airlines Boeing 373-900 as the first passenger plane to land after the lockdown.

On the same day, Uganda Airways flight number UB520 will be taking off to Kenya and Somalia.

Ugandans generally love wine and dine and make merry in Entebbe, which is 44 minutes away.

Many marvel at the fact that it is surrounded by Lake Victoria, which has a cool breeze and a serene ambience.

Entebbe has a number of attractions for all, some of which include: restaurants, bars, the zoo, the botanical garden and beaches.

It also has malls, Victoria and Imperial Mall, where people hangout.

The town also boasts of its proximity to the airport and islands with sandy beaches, which are fun tourist destination.

The islands can be accessed by speedboat or the ferry.

Nature

If you have a love for nature, then Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is the spot for you. It can be easily accessed via Entebbe.

You can also go to the zoo, which is The Wildlife Centre or the snake parks found en route to Entebbe.

A wealth of history at Aero Beach

After a 45 minute walk from Nakiwogo landing site we had a health break at Aero Beach, a mini museum of aviation, in Uganda.

There is a collection of Air busses, Migs and lighter air crafts in advanced degrees of decay.

Some are elevated off the ground and are supported by iron bars to save them from rust.

Unfortunately, there is no guide to furnish guests with required facts and details.

Owaraga sufficed but opened a can of worms saying one of the pieces was the France Airbus which was hijacked in 1976.

Good enough Google has made access to information easier today.

"Let us have the facts right I do not think Entebbe was sweet for Amin when Mossad raided the International Airport," interjected Flight Captain Aloysius Edema.

"This is when they came to rescue 98 Jewish hostages held by the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) who high jacked the France Airbus in 1976."

He revealed that Google has it that the alleged Air France vessel is a Cavalier with a Roll Royce engine.

Waddie Haddad was said to be the leader of the high jackers prompting Robert Kiboli to ask for the names of the Uganda Army officer who pulled the trigger of the gun that killed the rescue mission commander Yona Netanyahu.

"He was such a sharp shooter. Did Amin promote him? By the way, if those Migs of Uganda Air Force had not been destroyed-it would have been a different story today." Adding that, "The first Ugandan to fly one of them was Late Gad W. Toko from Maraca.

He did it in 1964 after training in the Soviet Union."
