However, Nalugo, who is a house wife, says before Mwebaze undergoes surgical operation of colostomy closure, she needs to first undergo heart surgery immediately.

Sylvia Nalugo, a resident of Lungujja zone in Kampala, carried her third pregnancy to term with no complications.

On September 18, 2019, Nalugo gave birth to a baby girl, Lynnate Mwebaze at Kiboga Referral Hospital. But the child was born with a deformed leg.

Nalugo says after they were discharged, she discovered that her baby's opening to the anus was also blocked.

When she returned to the hospital, she was referred to Mulago Hospital in Kampala, where the child was operated on to create a small opening on the stomach, through which the stool can pass.

"We were discharged two days later, but for the next few days, my daughter had a high fever and difficulty in breathing," Nalugo says.

Mwebaze was then referred to Mulago Heart Institute, where she was diagnosed with a heart complication described by doctors as pulmonary atresia with large outlet muscular.

One-year-old Mwebaze needs to undergo surgery at Narayana Hospital in India and they need a sh50m.

However, Nalugo, who is a house wife, says before Mwebaze undergoes surgical operation of colostomy closure, she needs to first undergo heart surgery immediately.
