ISINGIRO: A section of National Resistance Movement (NRM) party members who lost and those who won in the recently concluded NRM party elections in Isingiro district have started a reconciliation committee.

The committee is aimed at reconciling the aggrieved members within the ruling NRM party.

MP Alex Byarugaba Bakunda, the NRM chairman Isingiro South Constituency, said those who lost are still strong supporters of the party and they are willing to mobilize for President Yoweri Museveni, the Party Chairman, in the forthcoming general elections come 2021.

Bakunda said this as he met both losers and winners in the recently concluded NRM primaries in Kikagate Sub County, Isingiro district.

He revealed that their aim is to ensure that all candidates who lost in the party primaries do not join other opposition political parties but instead mobilise for NRM to win all political positions in the district.

"I felt it very necessary to gently call the meeting of all the leaders both the current and those recently voted in and those who lost in party primaries to come together and reconcile for victory come 2021," Bakunda said.

He urged all party members who lost to abide by the results and aim for reconciliation and support the flag bearers so that victory comes to NRM in next year's general polls.

Sam Muryajunwa, the NRM chairperson, Kikagate Sub-county encouraged his fellow party colleagues to focus on developing each other and embrace the party ideas by supporting.
