COVID-19: 2 health workers test positive in Koboko

KOBOKO - Two health workers and a truck driver have tested positive for COVID-19 in Koboko district.

The health workers are a lab technician attached to Koboko Hospital and the district focal point person for the surveillance team. They were taken to the Arua regional treatment centre.

Resident District Commissioner Capt. Yahaya Kakooza said authorities have decided to limit access to the district offices and close the premises for three days, in order to carry out disinfection.

There will also be mandatory testing for all staff.

He noted that only essential workers will have access to the offices. The district registered its first two COVID-19 cases on May 16.
