Over 60 riders from the 50cc class have been training at the motorsport arena in Busiika

Unlike in other sporting disciplines where coaches and fans are worried about the fitness levels of athletes, the opposite is true in motocross.

Ali Omar Snr, the manager and father of the Omar brothers Yasser, Wazir, and Waleed, on Sunday after a training session in Busiika disclosed that riders in all classes are on form.

"I want to assure you that apart from the newcomers in the 50cc, it is going to be fireworks in the rest of the classes," Omar said.

"We know the sport is not going to be the same in one or two years' time, but as the saying goes that tomorrow is built on today. We cannot just sit and see the future of these children go down. That is why we are persistent to keep facilitating their training every time."

Over 60 riders from the 50cc class to the veterans' class under the Motorcycling Association of Uganda have been training at the motorsport arena in Busiika.

The riders had a 45-minute enduro training session to test their fitness levels and left the parents of the rides who attended the training overwhelmed.

"This is the right direction. If you see the time all riders did in the enduro test, going two rounds in the 45 minutes, we have a great future," Robert Mawanda the father of  MX125cc rider Jeremiah Mawanda said.
