On September 6th, two days after her landslide victory in the NRM polls for Wakiso Women Member of Parliament, I set out to meet Hon Rosemary Nansubuga Sseninde and her husband, Zephaniah Sseninde at their home in Kasangati, Wakiso District.

Both dressed in traditional attire of a kanzu and gomesi, they animatedly talked about their thirty five- year-old journey of marriage, family and political career.

Gifted with the passion for public service, the legislator shuttled from a seemingly uncertain background to etch her name in the political corridors with the help of her husband, who she fondly calls her political mentor.

"I don't think I could have got this far if it was not with the help of my husband," says Rosemary.

This year, the couple celebrates 35 years of marriage.
