Indian accountant dies in Rukungiri

RUKUNGIRI- Police in Rukungiri district have started investigations into the sudden death of an Indian national.

The Kigezi regional Police spokesperson, Elly Maate identified the deceased as Kashvala Mayur Nathu, aged 26.

Police says, the deceased came to Ugandan through the head office in Kampala on 20 November, 2018 and at the time of his death, he was working as an accountant with Blue Nile distributors limited.

He allegedly left his home at Butimba village, Kinyasano ward, Western division Rukungiri municipality district and went for work as usual but out of blue, he started feeling sick.

Investigations show that before he passed on, the deceased informed his workmate one Patel Mehul, 32, a sales manager in the same company, and a resident of Rwakabengo cell, in Rukungiri district, who advised him to go and have a rest in his bed.

"Shortly after, Patel went to check on him and found him badly off. He immediately called Dr. Asaph of Case Clinic, who responded and pronounced him dead," said Police.

Patel allegedly notified Rukungiri Police Station, which visited the scene of crime and later took his body to Mbarara referral hospital for postmortem.

"Inquiries at hand to establish the likely cause of death as investigations into the mater continues vide CRB 1736/2020," said Police.
