Today In History: NRC session flops

Sep 17, 2020

The flop was blamed on lack of a duplicating machine to print vital reports.

Today In History (September 17, 1992)

The National Resistance Council (NRC) session flopped after the sectoral committee of NRC on social services could not present two reports on the ministries of information and health. While ministers Paul Etiang (information) and James Makumbi (health) were not present to present their reports, sources at the office of the Clerk to the National Assembly put the blame on a lack of a duplicating machine to do the job. They said the offices relied on the mercy of other ministries to produce reports needed for the NRC. A National Assembly staff was later seen at  2:50pm. arriving at the parliamentary building, loaded with the copies, long after the council had adjourned.
