CELEBRATING LIFE
Having lived in California (US) for a decade, Mary Nambi Nsamba , 35, was well established with a stable income to look after her family in Namulesa village in Jinja district.
She was generous to many Ugandans, most especially those from Busoga sub-region who travelled to the US for visits, academics and casual work (kyeyo).
She offered them accommodation, moral support and guidance. Joshua Nsamba, her husband, described Nambi as an aggressive person, who strived not only to ensure that their children get quality education, but also nurtured them religiously.
She had a positive attitude towards work. She never entertained dependency.
She would use every available opportunity to prosper herself and become self-sustaining.
She was always determined in her pursuance of the good things she wanted.
Evelyn Nansamba recalls her mother as principled and transparent. She always insisted on the truth. She was also keen on keeping records.
"Our mother was an exemplary. Every time Dad was away, she juggled both responsibilities of a father and mother equally well," she says. Nansamba adds: "Everybody would acknowledge how much she loved her husband."
After many challenges, she says her mother accepted Jesus Christ as her saviour. She loved and served the Lord with total commitment.
She knew the God she was serving, which was why she always executed her duties with devotion.
"We are grateful for her short, but impactful life that has enabled us to be what we are today," says her daughter.
Nambi is survived by two children and a husband. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
