The Electoral Commission chairman, Engineer Badru Kiggundu announced December 14 and 15 as the nomination dates for presidential candidates for the 2006 elections; January 12 and 13, 2006 for parliamentary candidates; December 19 and 20, 2005 for district chairpersons and November 22 and 24, 2005 would be for the sub county, city and municipal councils. He said whereas the EC had budgeted sh70b for the elections and the referendum on change to political parties, The Government had provided only sh30b.
