Busoga king celebrates 6th coronation anniversary

The Kyabazinga was ushered into his royal tent by Busoga kingdom's culture minister Richard Mafumo after sounding the royal drums at the palace.

JINJA - The Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Gabula Nadiope IV, celebrated his 6th coronation anniversary Sunday at a function held at Igenge Royal Palace in Bugembe, Jinja city.

The scaled-down event was graced by the Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, as a special guest.

The scientific celebrations attended by about 200 guests, were marked under the theme: 'Surviving the coronavirus pandemic. Take personal responsibility and cooperate with the experts'.

Standard operations procedures (SOPs), including wearing of face masks and social distancing, were observed at the function.

A celebratory mood blended well with some gloriously hot Sunday weather

Top kingdom officials attended the event. They included prime minister Dr. Joseph Muvawala, his deputies Prof. Dr. Muhammad Lubega and Osman Noor Ahmed, the chief prince (Issabalangira) of Busoga, hereditary chiefs, ministers, legislators from Busoga and clan heads.

Miss Tourism Uganda Phiona Kyeru, who hails from Busoga, and other Busoga tourism queens were in attendance
