COVID-19: Uganda registers 190 new cases

According to a press release from the health ministry, of the 190 cases, 187 are contacts and alerts. Kampala registered 95 cases, Kitgum 40, Zombo 13 and Moroto 12.

KAMPALA - The Ministry of Health has confirmed 190 new cases of COVID-19 bringing the number of cumulative confirmed cases to 4,291.

The cases are a result of tests done on Wednesday. 

According to a press release from the health ministry, of the 190 cases, 187 are contacts and alerts. Kampala registered 95 cases, Kitgum 40, Zombo 13 and Moroto 12.

Lira district recorded seven cases, Mbarara four, Arua, Gulu, Luweero and Wakiso registered two cases each. For Adjumani, Kabale, Kikuube, Kiryandongo, Mayuge, Mbale, Mukono and Terego, each registered one case.

Others cases were truckers who entered the country through Bunagana, Elegu and Malaba entry points. 

The number of COVID-19 deaths is now at 48 after the health ministry confirmed two fatalities.

To date. 1,998 Ugandans have recovered from the virus.
