New Judiciary Chief Registrar shuffles Magistrates

The changes were communicated in a press release issued by the Judiciary spokesperson, Jamson Karemani on Wednesday afternoon.

The new Judiciary Chief Registrar, Sarah Langa Siu, has shuffled Magistrates and Registrars barely a week after assuming office. 

The changes were communicated in a press release issued by the Judiciary spokesperson Jamson Karemani on Wednesday afternoon. 

Karemani notes that the changes which take immediate effect are meant to improve service delivery in the Courts of Judicature. 

In the new changes, Tom Chemutai, who has been the acting Chief Registrar has been deployed at the Nakawa based Judicial Training Institute while Entebbe Chief Magistrate Agnes Alum has replaced Langa as the civil court deputy registrar. 

Alex Mushabe Korocho, who has been the assistant registrar at the Civil Division of the High, is now the personal legal secretary to Deputy Chief Justice Richard Buteera. 

Harriet Ssali has been moved from Mukono High Court to the Supreme Court registry. 

Godfrey Opifeni has been transferred from the Inspectorate of Courts to the Court of Appeal. 

Amos Kwizera has been moved to the registry of planning and development from Mbarara High Court. 

Samuel Emokor has been transferred to the High Court criminal division from the registry of planning and development.  Emokor replaces Mary Ikit who has been moved to Mukono High Court. 

Keramani himself has been transferred from the Inspectorate of Courts to the Civil Division of the High as assistant registrar. 

Jinja Chief Magistrate Elias Kakooza has been deployed at the Land Division of the High Court.    

Samuel Twakyire has been named the new Mbarara High Court deputy registrar while Busia Chief Magistrate Catherine Agwero has been transferred to Jinja Chief Magistrate Court.  

Juliet Nakitende has been moved from Apac to Entebbe Chief Magistrate Court.
