Church of Uganda signs MOU with Rotary, IREAD

Kaziimba thanked Rotary Uganda and IREAD for choosing the church of Uganda, which he said will improve the education sector not only in the Church but the country as a whole.

EDUCATION 

The Church of Uganda has signed a memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Rotary Uganda and the Institute for Rural Education and Development (IREAD) to boost the education sector, especially in the early years of learning.

The MOU was signed by the Archbishop of the church of Uganda Dr. Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu on behalf of the church and May Virij who represented the IREAD, an NGO funding the project.

This was at the provincial offices Monday (September 09, 2020).

Fredrick Kitakule on behalf of Rotary Uganda said their main focus is on early childhood program which will cut across 37 dioceses in Uganda.

He stated that the formal agreement was designed to create partnership between the Rotary and the Church of Uganda in order to improve the Early childhood program, which he said should strengthen the foundation of the next generation.

"We have so far constructed three schools in Arua, Nebbi and Kotido but our target is to construct more six schools before the year (2020) ends," he said.

Kaziimba started with a vote of thanks to Rotary Uganda and IREAD for choosing the church of Uganda which he said will improve the education sector not only in the Church but the country as a whole.

He asked residents where these projects will be, to cooperate with the contractors.
