Eddy Kenzo unveiled as Uganda's new tourism ambassador

Kenzo pledged to employ his vast network of friends and professionals across the globe to help unlock Uganda’s tourism potential, as well as encourage the youth here to embrace their country’s tourism industry.

Artiste Eddy Kenzo has been unveiled as the new Uganda Tourism Ambassador by the state minister for tourism, Godfrey Kiwanda Ssuubi, at Sheraton Hotel in Kampala.

Kiwanda said they chose Kenzo because he sings positively about the the country, unlike some muscians who portray negativity in their music.

The minister said Kenzo task will be to market the tourism sector from the four fronts which he identified as the, Tulambule Campaign that creats local awareness of uganda's visibility in the East African region; Destination Uganda campaign that seeks to attract tourist from the rest of Africa; Twende Uganda tourism campaign and the Global Pearl of Africa campaign.

Kenzo says he has been representing Kenya

Kiwanda noted that Kenzo's globle profile as a BET award winner will help Uganda's visibility as a preferred tourist destination.

Kenzo said he has been a tourism ambassador for Kenya and that as soon as his contract with Kenya ended, he was able to call minister Godfrey Kiwanda and plegdged to volunteer as uganda's ambassador for tourism.

Kenzo also pledged to employ his vast network of friends and professionals across the globe to help unlock Uganda's tourism potential, as well as encourage the youth here to embrace their contry's tourism industry.

Kenzo joins a high profile team of Uganda celebrities that include Zari Hassan and Fabiola, who were also once brand ambassadors of Uganda's tourism sector.
