Mabirizi asks court to arrest Bobi Wine over alleged lies
The lawyer, in his private capacity, has instituted charges of giving false information and false declaration of passport against the presidential hopeful.
Kampala lawyer Hassan Male Mabirizi has petitioned Buganda Road Chief Magistrate Court to issue arrest warrants against Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine to answer charges of giving false information to Parliament and the passport office.
In an application filed today morning, Mabirizi in his private capacity has instituted charges of giving false information and false declaration of passport against the presidential hopeful.
He argues that Bobi Wine lied to Parliament and the passport office that he was born on February 12, 1982 where as his academic transcripts indicate that he was born on February 12, 1980.
"I have asked the court to issue arrest warrants against Kyagulanyi because he is a liar and he must face the law. I don't want a liar to be nominated because it is against Article 80 of the Constitution," Mabirizi said during a media interview this morning.
Bobi Wine was today slated to address the media about the matter.
Last week, Mabirizi also petitioned Wakiso Chief Magistrate Court to issue arrest warrants against Bobi Wine on grounds that he lied to the Wakiso district Electoral Commission returning officer that he was born on February 12, 1982, whereas not.
