League holders Vipers release 13 players

Uganda Premier League defending champions Vipers SC have released up to 13 players from their contracts.


Midfielder Brian Nkuubi, who has been at Vipers for five years, is one of the players that has left the club.

Nkuubi's departure follows the signing of David Bagoole from Busoga United.

Others are goalkeeper Derrick Ochan, left-back Dan Birikwalira who spent last season on loan at Kyetume FC, Janjali Joseph who was on loan at Bright Stars together with Dickens Okwir (Paidha Black Angels), Ibrahim Kiyemba (Wakiso Giants), Duncan Seninde (Wakiso Giants) and Farouk Musisi.

Tom Masiko, who recently joined Wakiso Giants on a permanent deal, was also released, while Steven Mukwala and Tito Okello, Fred Atuhwera as well as Baden Mujahid are now free agents.

Brian Kalumba will be sent on loan to a club yet to be named.

Vipers have already signed Disan Galiwango (Express), Ibrahim (Mbarara City), Jamil Kalisa (Bright Stars), and David Bagoole (Busoga United) to beef up the team ahead of a demanding season.
