2021 Presidential race: who has picked nomination forms?

The aspirants will use the supporter forms to collect signatures indicating the support of not less than one hundred (100) registered voters in each of at least two thirds (2/3) of all the districts of Uganda.

The number of the aspirants who have already picked Presidential nominations according to the Electoral Commission (EC) is overwhelming. They have reached 58.

On the list is; Dan Matsiko, Charles Bbaale of Ecological Party of Uganda (EPU), Christopher Rugaba, Fred Mwesigye, Joseph Mwambazi, Harold Nuwasiima, Eric Bunnet Kiisa, John Katumba, Joshua Isingoma Mugisha, Bob Akileng, John Habert Nkangabwa,Elizabeth Lugudde-Katwe , Joel Ssekimpi, Charles Mutasa Kafeero, Edward Niyonzima, Godfrey Sempebwa Batuwadde, Vicks Kingo Molodocal Ainebyona, Simon Ebetu, Robert Kyagulanyi (NUP), Mutyaba Talemwa Misusera, Hillary Humphrey Kaweesa , Simon Peter Sserunjogi, Christopher Alibankooha , Maureen Kyalya, Henry Sserunjogi , Paul Kato Ssentongo, William Mugerwa, Kironde Mugerwa, Deo Lukyamuzi  and Umar Lutaaya.

Others are; Nancy Kalembe Emmanuel Mbaziira, Derrick Aturinda, Ben Israel Sseninde , Gen.Gregory Mugisha Muntu, Charles Rwomushana,  Makooma Yosamu Tunawoza, Joel Wamono, Moses Makmot, Dan Okello, Patrick Onono, Ethiona Mirembe, Ivan Ssebadduka, Julius Mitala, Moses Byamugisha,  Aine Christopher Kato, Willy Mayambala, Ambrose Kyomukama, Joseph Kiiza Kabuleta, Karim Tegike, Vicent Ssemwogerere,Julius Japian Opondo, Billy Charles Oryem, Brenda Katushemererwe, Moses Watamba, Robert Mutono  Mbulambago  Henry Tumukunde and Rogers Drileba.

The EC kicked off with the exercise to issue out nomination forms on August 10.

The Commission chairman, Justice Simon Byabakama in a statement said; "The aspirants will use the supporter forms to collect signatures indicating the support of not less than one hundred (100) registered voters in each of at least two thirds (2/3) of all the districts of Uganda."

Per the 2021 election roadmap, presidential candidates will be nominated on November 2 and 3 while campaigns will kick off on Nov 10 to Jan 8, 2021.
