Kabalagala Police in a joint security operation on Sunday night raided Nomad bar and grill, a famous hang out in Bunga, where 49 revelers were rounded up and arrested.
They were found making merry at the bar's famous ‘Sunday School' day theme party, against the President and Ministry of health directives since bars were shut down in March, following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The bar proprietor and owner, Fred Kamau, and eight of his employees were arrested and detained at Kabalagala Police Station.
Relatedly, Kira Road Police also carried out a joint operation to enforce the same guidelines in Ntinda and Kiwatule.
This followed a tip that indicated that a large group of people gather at an apartment in Balintuma village near Firidina Road, for merry-making.
The officers accessed the apartment and managed to arrest seven suspects as others fled upon seeing the police. The seven are now detained at Kira Road Police Station.
