I loved her because our hearts and minds synced

"The attraction was strong on an intellectual level and we also had a strong physical attraction for each other. I guess we ticked all the boxes for each other."

RELATIONSHIP | MARRIAGE

Following the presidential directives to curb the spread of Corona virus, gatherings were banned.

This directive resulted into the emergence of "scientific" weddings, where a handful of guests are invited to weddings and they are required to following standard operating procedures, especially washing hands, wearing masks and keeping social distance.

To act exemplary as a leader and good citizen, the incumbent L.C V councillor Nakawa I Ward, Moses Mugisha Okwera, adhered to the directives when he tied the knot with Esther Rachael Musaasizi.

The wedding was held at Resurrection Church of Uganda Bugolobi on August 8th. Rev. Andrew Nalumenya, who wedded the couple, praised Okwera for being a "real man" by braving the pandemic to get married.

Rev. Nalumenya urged them to put God first in all hardships that may come across their way, saying God is the overseer and taker of all things.

He asked the couple to remember to lift His name high.

Speaking about his wife, Okwera said, "Racheal has all the qualities that I am looking for in a wife.

However, you know most of us tend to look at physical features such as facial attractiveness, body shape and other qualities.

After being sure of these, it is when we evaluate the woman's character. I would like to say that I have keenly subjected Rachael to all those parameters, and I am convinced, beyond doubt, that she is well-bred and is very beautiful.

After the wedding, the couple treated their guests at Royal Suites Bugolobi to a reception of food and drinks.

Many political figures at different levels attended the event. In their speeches, they attributed Okwera's victory in the relationship to his boldness, bounty, God-fearing and his down-to-earth qualities.

They also said he is very loyal and principled.

For crowd control, police and other security operatives in plain clothes were deployed and only guests with invitation cards were allowed into the compound. Owing to that, the guests could ably maintain social distancing.

The bride, Rachael, said she was drawn to Okwera's good looks.

"First of all he is very handsome. The physical attraction was strong, and the more I got to know him, his personality was even better," she said.

The two also found that they share Christian and family values, which made them draw even closer.

Rachael notes that their similar interest to achieve and work with youth and the under privileged communities in Kampala fuelled their bond.

"The attraction was strong on an intellectual level and we also had a strong physical attraction for each other. I guess we ticked all the boxes for each other," she added.
