Simon Shimanya, the key suspect in the murder of International Hospital Kampala (IHK) nurse has confessed to killing her over extramarital affairs.

Shimanya confessed to the crime as police together with officers from the State House Anti-Corruption Unit visited the scene of the crime on Thursday.
He led the detectives to his home in Bbumbu -Kiteezi in Mpererwe, Wakiso district where the murder incident of Viola Kakai took place.
Shimanya who was arrested from Isingiro district is jointly accused with Robert Sebuufu the said boyfriend to Kakai.
Shimanya who is a primary school teacher at Global Primary School in Isingiro told detectives that on the fateful day, Kakai came back home with Sebuufu whom she had for a long time been in a love affair with.
Shimanya, who is being detained at the Central Police Station Kampala, said that he hit his wife with an axe while trying to attack Sebuufu, a driver at Katalemwa Chensire home in Mpererwe.
"It was in the night when Sebuufu and the deceased came in a car. I hurriedly came out to get that man because he had disturbed me for a long time but Kakai blocked me," Ssebuufu said.
He explained that he tried his best to overpower Kakai, went and picked the axe and when I tried to hit Sebuufu, it went to Kakai.
An angry Shimanya accused Sebuufu of plotting to sale his house.
