KAMPALA- Police have warned politicians who are undermining the health ministry guidelines aimed at taming the spread of COVID-19.
Addressing journalists at Uganda Media Centre in Kampala Monday, the police spokesperson, Fred Enanga disclosed that they have already summoned several politicians from opposition and National Resistance Movement (NRM) to record statements.
He said the Kyadondo East legislator, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine will appear at CID headquarters on Tuesday to record a statement on allegations of undermining the COVID-19 guidelines.
Enanga did not provide further details on the matter.
Those who have already recorded statements according to Enanga include Alfred Chemitayi, a parliamentary aspirant in Kween district, Dickson Kateshumbwa MP contestant Shema district and Dr Charles Ayume, who is contesting for the position of Koboko Municipality MP.
Robert Atukunzire, a contestant in Mitooma district was found campaigning at the burial ceremony which had attracted over 500 people in breach of Covid-19 guidelines.
