Bobi Wine's car still parked at Arua Police

Aug 14, 2020

The vehicles belonging to Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, and Kassiano Wadri (Arua Municiplaity MP) are still parked at Arua Central Police Station. The cars are wasting away as the case of treason against the legislators continues at Gulu High Court.

The cars were impounded after allegations that the two legislators, together with others, stoned one of the vehicles in President Yoweri Museveni's motorcade in Arua. In 2018, Kyagulanyi, was campaigning for Wadri in Arua Municipality, where they attracted a huge procession that disrupted Museveni's convoy.

Museveni was in Arua to campaign for Nusura Tiperu, the then NRM flag-bearer. As security operatives were involved in running battles with Wadri's supporters, one of the vehicles in the presidential motorcade had its windscreen smashed, leading to the arrest of over 30 suspects, including Wadri, Kyagulanyi, Night Asarah, Shaban Atiku and Francis Zaake (Mityana Municipality MP).

The vehicles are parked at the Police as exhibit in the treason case.
