PIONEER MALL NO MORE ðŸ˜
Having opened in the early 1990s, Pioneer Mall, a key landmark in the central business district of Kampala has been razed. We asked Ugandans to share with us their memories of the first mall in Uganda and this is what they said.
Martin WM My high school sweetheart worked in a shop there around 2009
Agaba Lincon Thug grabbed my phone n ran to pioneer mall..... I can't forget that place 😂😜😂😂
Jonathan Tenhwa In my profile picture. Am seated at that restaurant on pioneer mall. I would always rush in there for breakfast.
Shamie Bint Edrisa They stole my phone from their ....where taxis load from....thank God I trucked the thief and got him
Lamuzungu Sylavia I bought my most expensive dress have ever had from there.
Mugumya Dave Took my first cut for a date there in 2009 and only had 20k in my ka wallet. We sat and she ordered for ice cream in my head I thought it would go for 2k or 3...so I also ordered one too. Mama yangu each glass went for 15k... I politely called the waitress and told her my problem hoping she would be discreet but oh. The lady yelled on top of her voice "Why do u come to expensive places when ur broke"? My galfrnd looked at me with disgust got her wallet out and paid the balance. We've never spoken again ever since then last I had she was married with kids.
Agwa Benjamin I did some art work on the wall panels relief sculpture of palm trees in 2003.
This is what is left of the once famous mall in Uganda.
