Govt. freezes all refugee movements

Following the death of a refugee in Kwangwali Camp Hoima District, the movement of Refugees to different camps and crossing borders has been stopped.

The Ministry of Disaster Preparedness has warned refugees against sneaking back to their home countries which poses a risk of spreading corona virus.

Musa Ecweru, the state minister in charge of Refugees, says following the death of a refugee in Kwangwali Camp Hoima District they have stopped movement of Refugees to different camps and crossing borders.

Ecweru says they are also quarantining refugees who interacted with the deceased and putting in place punitive measures to restrict movement.
